When I hire a professional to install new windows in my home or to prepare my tax return, I expect a forecast of the time it will take to complete the job and the cost of the job.

Divorce should not be different.  Experienced divorce counsel should be prepared to set a budget with the prospective client and a timeline to complete the job.

As many of us know, divorce is a process that requires the services of a professional to address the legal issues properly and fairly.  In many cases, this involves defining the marital estate and the ability of each party to earn an income.  The law is then applied to formulate a proposed custom settlement agreement based on the facts of this marriage to distribute the assets and liabilities gained during the marriage in a fair manner.  If one spouse has traditionally earned substantially more than the other spouse, an analysis of alimony should also be completed and properly negotiated.

In my experience, some divorce attorneys fail to manage divorce matters efficiently.  If unnecessary delays occur, emotion and other personal issues between the divorcing spouses may erupt.  This can cause the divorce to take a more contested rout that does not benefit either side.

The fact is that nearly all spouses going through divorce are seeking to move past this difficult stage in their life as quickly as possible.  Therefore, divorce calls for a sense of urgency and a professional work product that addresses all issues of the marriage.

The mindful divorce attorney will work to bring the matter to a conclusion as quickly as possible.  Further, he or she will consider the current and future financial position of both spouses to obtain a fair final settlement agreement.

Our law firm is often able to bring amicable divorce matters from open to close in 3-4 months.  Further, our law firm offers fixed pricing to provide the client with our costs upfront.

The law firm you choose in divorce should match your goals for divorce.
